Our most recent Halloween addition.

This paper pumpkin lantern was purchased from a flea market in Austin, TX. Unopened, with a date of 1976 on the package. You fan out the lantern until it fits over your lamp shade.

With modern LED bulbs, this is no issue but curious how they handled this back in the 70s without burning the house down!

A large, orange, paper pumpkin lantern with a black smiling face sits in front of an ornate mirror, creating a reflective effect. Two table lamps with yellow shades flank the mirror. Below the lantern, on a wooden surface, are decorative pumpkin masks with carved faces and green leaves, and two unlit candles in holders.
