Interesting that Meta has bought 3GW of solar this year. Trump won't like it, they won't get any tax breaks, they will probably have to import quite a lot of them, and pay tarrifs; and it is _still_ the most effective way of getting the power they need. I expect they are buying a shit ton of BESS too but cannot find the numbers.

This is not saying solar or firmed-solar is the cheapest. But when you need a lot of power ASAP then this is where people are going.

And the speed is important. All the hyperscalers have done the maths. Even if they want to go nuclear eventually.

In 7-10 years when CCGT or Nukes come on line the grids will have adapted to firmed intermittent renewables + FF backup when needed. Batteries will reduce transmission costs and the tools will have been rolled out.

This is not ideological, it's economics.
