As all levels of government, cities in particular can greatly benefit from what free software offers to support more trustworthy digitialization of public services.

@downey These are simply feel-good (and rather hypocritical) statements designed to boost the political image ahead of what is likely to be a tough election year. Barcelona City Council simply DOES NOT USE free software, despite many years of pressure to do so, which it has always flatly refused, citing some technical nonsense.
THIS IS THE REAL SITUATION.
@javiercuchi I'm not familiar with their past actions or statements, but with this agreement, it seems to be an opportunity to hold the city more accountable for its future activity, yes?
@downey I am very sceptical about this. But they say that hope is the last thing to be lost.
