Managed to trick my lazy self into going out to shoot today. Ended up taking around 250 photos of an excavator until it looked halfway graceful.

Too far, too dark background, wrong angle - move, wait, click, click, click, repeat. Still, good fun. Even in the rain.

Bloody inner sloth!

Square black-and-white photograph. Against a dark, dramatic sky with heavy clouds, the silhouette of an excavator stands on a ridge near the horizon. Its arm is raised in a curved position, the bucket suspended above a small mound of earth. Light breaks faintly through the clouds behind it, creating a strong contrast between the bright background and the dark upper and lower thirds of the frame.

You wouldn’t guess it, but the excavator is on a landfill. Strangely enough, it looked rather lovely around it.
