There's a strong historical connection twixt Scotland and France, and we can see this in language.
In #Scots, "awa in a dwam" means to be lost in a daydream, with dwam meaning a daydream or stupor (the thing you are lost in).
In French, "dwam" is more usually substituted by "douane", as that's more often where things are lost. Example:
"Ou est mon colis?"
"Perdue à la douane"
