As polls have consistently demonstrated from 2016 through today, white Christians — not just white evangelicals, though they are the chief cheerleaders, but white Christians across the board — own the Trump presidency and its manifold crudities and cruelties, its deep corruption and immorality, it's fundamental clash with everything the Christian gospel proclaims.
