Think e.g. home automation: What you are interfacing with is light bulbs, power outlets, window blinds and the like. Sitting down at a computer screen and keyboard to turn on your lights seems rather clunky, and a voice interface is most certainly easier to handle than like a thousand switches to command devices all around your house.
