I talk to many professional #UX designers and no one is using genAI in any MEANINGFUL way to revolutionize their design work.
Sure, everyone is playing with it, and it can do some cool parlor tricks, but there isn't anything significant happening in design. If it was so damn helpful, people would be falling over themselves to use it. That's clearly not happening.
The AI design revolution hasn't come to pass. This needs to be said louder.
@scottjenson huh, used it at Twitch for a TON of rapid prototyping to iterate on more complex/experimental interactions.
Faster than engaging engineering to help build something or go back and forth iterating or trying various ideas with them.
Also much better than trying to hack a prototype in Figma/Origami/Principal/insert X prototyping tool here because it’s real code.

@scottjenson you can’t solve problems well if every decision is tightly connected to the sum of everything that has been done before. AI may one day come to replace designing yet another ecommerce site design or generic sales website, but it can’t solve new user needs with innovative thinking.
