HEY #ASKFEDI 🤔 What Gallery app do you use on your #Android phone?
I feel like the Photos app from Google would be okay, but all the good features (like detecting people in your photos) only work if you upload all your shit to Google servers.
The Gallery app from Google is an "offline" gallery app, but barely has the same features. I've tried Right Gallery and it's okay, but not great.
What are you using?
@matt Fossify Gallery is the first thing you should try ;)
@matt Not sure if relevant, but my gallery app is effectively Immich.
I say not sure if relevant because Immich is a self-hosted alternative to Google Photos, so you need to be running your own server, or know someone who lets you use theirs.
For stuff that is not on my server I use the stock Android Gallery app (not the one from Google, I run GrapheneOS, so no Google apps by default).
