For the people that think #Mastodon and other social web sites are “ healthier” would love to know your thoughts on this https://www.davideaversa.it/blog/problem-mastodon-fediverse/ #fediverse #fedi #opensocialweb

The Problem with Mastodon and the Fediverse

I tried to jump on the Mastodon train several times; however, I was never really convinced by it. To be honest, I was never really interested in any open-source clone of popular commercial social networks. And like me, 99% of the non-technical people I know. Why? A quick answer for a bloody hot August.

@damon I don't think any open social network where people can have conflict of ideas will be free of hate speech and uncivilized disagreements.

The referred article uses mine paragraphs, but I couldn't find any substantial criticism of the Fediverse and some of its problems.

But if you have a website that doesn't allow far right propaganda or any other form of intentional hate speech, the likelihood of people being harmed will be lower.
