Gen-Z Music Producer listening to "Foreplay / Long Time" from Boston's self-titled album from 1976: "Oh god, someone played that organ. With their fingers. That's so hard!" 馃槅

Also, repeatedly about the album, stuff to the effect of "Someone recorded that in their basement!!!" (The Someone was an MIT-educated engineer, so I guess from that and the result - one of the cleanest-recorded albums of the era - we can guess that was not your average basement.)

*Looks up the "Someone" from the first post in thread on Wikipedia*

"Scholz is an MIT-trained engineer who designed and built his own recording studio in an apartment basement in the early 1970s."

"The first Boston album was mostly recorded in his basement studio, primarily using devices he invented."

"[He...] did not enjoy the limelight of being a performer, preferring to concentrate on music, production, and inventing new electronic equipment."

Wishing I could bold the "invented" bits.
