A quick Gaza Verified update:

I’m currently traveling so I won’t be online all the time in the next week.

I’m also working on a new automated verification call scheduling system that I hope we can start using next week. It will automate everything but the actual video calls themselves and add some more checks to our verification process. It also removes Signal from our process, replacing it with an embedded Jitsi video call component.

These developments are based on our experiences with @joynewacc of running Gaza Verified for about a month now, including the week-long emergency campaign in which we raised $40K to help our families move to the South.

I will update those of you waiting for verification about the new process next week.

We will also be contacting some of the most at risk people on Sunday to schedule calls for them on Monday, even before the new system is launched.

I hope the new system will allow us to help our families from Gaza on the fediverse in a more efficient way.
