I went down to the river.
It’s an estuary at this point. The rocks are covered in lichen and lovely cushion-y moss.

A spiky grey lichen growing on rock with yellow and white flat lichen covering lots of it.
I only saw the very thin clear discarded fishing line when checking the photo afterwards, I am annoyed as I didn’t see it at the time to pick it up to stop it harming wildlife, the tide is in the way in, so I will have to go back later.

Rocky outcrop covered in yellow & white lichen and cushions of green moss. The river and far shore are out of focus in the background.

White lichen covered in white discs where the spores will be. The texture is lumpy, some of the adjacent yellow lichen is visible on the left side - the rock it is growing on is completely covered in lichen

Green cushiony moss on rocks covered with white crust lichen. Grass leaves are in the foreground.
