On very much a related note, if you're ever about to do some mending on your clothes, or take them to get mended, like in a repair cafe or one of those pop-up things?
WASH your to be mended textiles in an almost empty washing machine to get rid of both whatever human particles are on there, but potentially decades of lint that really wants to live inside all the seams and folds of the thing! Your sewist will thank you!

Re-did the whole seam, I already had the machine out, might as well. Hopefully that'll last for another ten years, I certainly used a much higher quality thread now than I did when making the petticoat. 😅
