Superman's Canadian Roots
Superman, the iconic superhero, has Canadian origins! Co-creator Joe Shuster was born in Toronto and based Metropolis partly on Toronto and the Daily Planet newspaper on the Toronto Daily Star where he worked as a paperboy. These Canadian connections influenced many visual elements of the Superman comics when they first appeared in 1938. 🦸♂️
