I know that the armed forces were segregated, and that a lot of the soldiers who fought against the Nazis weren't actually motivated by anti-fascist ideology, but I still think these posts talking about parents and grandparents fighting as members of AntiFa cells are awesome and make a really important point: AntiFa literally means anti-fascism, and being against that is being *for* fascism.
Our forbears really did fight and die for that cause, whether they realized the big picture or not. We should celebrate the win those sacrifices brought to the world, and use every tool available to us to prevent that living horror from repeating itself again in the USA. So, by all means, remember the nuances, but please don't discourage people from sharing their stories. An imperfect ally is still an ally.
