I'm very glad that #chatControl failed again, but, important as encryption is, it is not the main point.
The main point is to ensure our democratic rights are maintained and enforced, and political and economic power are kept at bay.
Given that, it is of course nice to feel safe behind #e2ee
But no one should think "e2ee is my shield if democracy fails,". It is not.

Social problems like erosion of democracy DO NOT admit individual solutions. Only society can solve social problems.
