Because the world clearly doesn't think enough horrible shit is happening:

My wife, along with her entire team of talented, well-trained (by her) instructional designers, was laid off from the private, for-profit university she's worked for since 2018.

I'm self-employed, so we've been reliant on her employer-provided healthcare. That goes away at the end of the month, because the entire US healthcare system sucks balls.
