@fdroidorg How about situationa where its legitimately plaigarism? Or more commonly ( and why I switched to Forgejo ) forking without attribution, for the purpose of distributing malware.

Although thats mostly a thing of the past ever sense I disabled pull requests.

@fdroidorg I can only assume that this is at least partly due to Google's efforts to lock down the Android ecosystem. Keep up the good work!

@nenos We've announced this work back in April (https://f-droid.org/2025/04/16/strengthening-foss-legal-resilience.html) and it took months to prepare, find folks, talk with them, document, write, etc. It's not a reaction, but more of the same pro- #FLOSS stance we've had for the last one and a half decades. While these principles and thoughts were on the back of our mind daily, funding helps us put them in writing and make everything clearer and transparent, for a safer future of the community.
