Faith Family Academy is one of eight Texas charter school districts on track to be shut down at the end of the year after receiving an “F” rating.

Board members paid its superintendent a peak annual compensation of $560,000 in recent years.

@span ProPublica Texas charter schools are the worst. The ones in Houston “accept all students” but by the end of three months they expel poor performers to juice their numbers so they look more successful instead of just educating high performers. And this is before all the transfer-of-wealth voucher programs that Abbott passed. So glad I got the fuck out of can’t-keep-the-lights-on Texas.

@span ProPublica thanks for covering this! They haven’t gotten the media attention recently but there’s a reason the #anotherdayanothercharterscandal used to be popular on the old birdsite

No wonder Jeffrey Yass was so generous with his bribes to Greg Abbott.

A two-for-one,
1) obedience to Koch & his oil oligarchs out to ruin public education. An illiterate electorate is needed to wreck democracy.

2) lucrative no-bid contracts for self-dealing billionaires & a drive to indoctrinate the young

Wherever publicly funded private/charter schools are allowed, grifters are soon to follow.

It was the same with the ECOT schools in Ohio. Complete disaster. https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/2022/06/28/ecot-owes-ohio-117-million-state-money-improperly-received/7756058001/

If right wing Americans invested the money they willingly, routinely get conned out of, the US could have a completely free healthcare system.

@ProPublica If it's got the word "faith" in its name you can lay down good odds that it's corrupt to the core.

@ProPublica Yeah, when government gives private companies money to provide public services the companies will *always *skim some of that money away for profits. Even non-profit companies will skim money off for the bosses salaries. *ALWAYS.*
