If you haven't listened to one of the interviews with Andry Hernandez Romero yet, you owe it to yourself to do so. Andry is one of the men sent by the Trump gang to the #CECOT gulag in El Salvador, where they experienced constant physical and psychological abuse. Most of them did not have a criminal record.
They were only freed because the Trump gangsters recently found them to be useful pawns in an exchange with Venezuela.
One thing I want to call out from this interview is how incredibly important the public shows of empathy and support were for both Andry and the other victims of the Trump gang -- support from people in Venezuela, the United States, and the world.
There will always be cynics who tell you that nothing matters, nothing makes a difference. That's bullshit. Keep pushing back against desensitization, against normalization of the venality, criminality and cruelty of the Trump gang.
