#SciArtSeptember Day 4: Diffusion.

I promised my spouse I'd take it easier today, so instead of a new blackwork pattern I'm sharing my first blackwork embroidery piece: a zigzag gradient bookmark. I thought it sort of evokes a concentration gradient.

This bookmark uses two methods for shading fill patterns — using different thread weights, and removing parts of the pattern.

#BlackworkEmbroidery #embroidery

An embroidered bookmark, black thread on white Aida fabric. Inside the border is a repeating horizontal zigzag pattern, which gradually gets lighter before breaking up into a dashed line.
