The search engine @ecosia have a survey running. They want to know how you use their search engine and how you use AI.

You can tell them what you think about both of those things here: https://feedback.surveylab.com/38a/5f0d0476/

@matt @ecosia I use the AI on DuckDuckGo because I don't want to be spending hours searching for an example of a certain error message. It's great for search and finding those pieces of research for me. But outside of that it's garbage. It's great for telling you what a certain problem might be, but sucks donkey dick for actually fixing the issue. I do not know how vibe code can POSSIBLY even work.

@matt @ecosia that survey was ridiculously biased towards endorsing AI features. At no point could I really say "I don't want any AI features at all" and when given why I could only pick 3 reasons

@thisismissem
For sure. They're building a search index with Qwant and expanding on their AI tools, which is why I thought it important to share here, where the sentiment is largely anti-AI.

I'm sure Ecosia have already invested enough €€€ in the AI area to turn back but hopefully we can show other features are much more valuable than AI features.

@matt I suggested search packs as a feature: search within curated sets of websites

@thisismissem They should definitely do this. I think the only two that really allow you to set that up are Kagi and Mojeek. Good suggestion πŸ‘

@matt yeah, but I want them to be somewhat social so I could create a pack & share it with others
