100 years ago this week, the classic silent film "Phantom of the Opera" had its premiere.
The film is a gothic horror based on the 1910 novel by Gaston Leroux, and sticks closer to the novel's plot than later adaptations. It's particularly notable for Lon Chaney's performance as the Phantom.
You can watch the film on the Fediverse as it's now public domain. Unfortunately there isn't a public domain soundtrack, so I've edited together a new one using PD and CC music.
