The Sun spat out a long duration Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) starting at around 1900Z on 30Aug2025.

This NOAA SWPC ENLIL model predicts an arrival at earth at 2100Z 1Sep2025. That's 9am on 2Sep2025 for New Zealand which make the chances of seeing aurora here pretty low. Observers at lower longitudes may have more luck.

However, the duration of the flare may mean that any aurora on earth last longer than usual.
