#OtD 28 Aug 1830 in Kent, UK a threshing machine was destroyed by angry labourers, starting the Swing rebellion. Workers sent demands to bosses signed by "Captain Swing", and if the bosses did not cave in, mobs would smash the machines https://stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/9980/swing-riot-in-kent
