I think my brain is finally beginning to re-learn that my music collection is there, a while after my showstopper bug in #QuodLibet was fixed.

this is a big deal for many reasons, not least of which that it makes wearing noise-canceling headphones a lot easier / more appealing.

also, I fucking love music.

I have an inherent resistance to blocking my perception of sound in environments which aren't "mine," even when doing so is exactly what I need to do in order to prevent all sorts of problems which emerge from my auditory sensitivity and processing quirks.

it took me several years of mental trench warfare to break my resistance more than not. but having my music available adds a crucial "pull factor" to wearing the headphones, beyond the "push factor" of avoiding noise.
