skull360 We've successfully upgraded our Mastodon server to v4.5.0-alpha.2+mementomods-2025-08-24.

This upgrade includes the latest today's daily build, so everything should be as up to date as possible.

Mastodon Bird UI has been upgraded to 2.3.4rc4 with a minor fix to the upcoming Quote Posts feature. https://github.com/ronilaukkarinen/mastodon-bird-ui/releases/tag/2.3.4rc4

As always, if you notice anything unusual or buggy, please let me or any of the other admins know.

Enjoy your time here! Feel free to message me if you have any questions or thoughts. bunhdheart

@rolle Does the UI respect users' quote post settings? It would be great if the Mastodon instance itself queried the quotee's settings and refused the quote if it didn't respect their settings (this may be the case, I don't know).

@davep Mastodon Bird UI is just a style and user interface - it doesn't add functionality or make decisions. See the FAQ here: https://github.com/ronilaukkarinen/mastodon-bird-ui?tab=readme-ov-file#can-you-implement-feature-x

If you want to learn more about the actual Mastodon Quote Posts feature, read this: https://oisaur.com/@renchap/115068744064519831

I'm not a Mastodon developer myself; I just develop my own UI/theme for it. As far as I know, Mastodon will always respect users' quote post settings - you have to approve a quote beforehand, and you can remove a post from a quote later if you want.
