One question I've been meaning to ask is whether there is a term/technique for knitting colorwork in the round in such a way that avoids the jog, like you see here.
The jog comes from the fact that you're applying a regular linear pattern to a spiral, so at the end of the round, you're always starting out the next row's pattern adjacent to the end of the previous round.
Searching on "jogless joins" for knitting in the round turns up results that focus on either making the cast on border seamless, or horizontal stripes that are seamless. I've not found anything that talks about a geometric pattern like this.* Perhaps I'm not searching on the right term?
Basically, what I need is to stop and join in at the end of each row, then start a new row on top. (Since this is double knit, I can hide the yarn jumping vertically between rows in between the layers.)
Suggestions?
