馃摎 Metcalfe鈥檚 law says that the value of a network grows with each new node. But what happens when some of those nodes are fake?

Nathan T. Camp and colleagues applied this law to citation databases, while Leo Van Hove showed that if even a third of the references are counterfeit, 馃あ the database loses its scientific value and turns harmful.
