This was posted on Facebook by the owner of the boardgame shop where @V and I met and have spent many of our happiest times. As a fourth-generation Washingtonian who grew up listening to their relatives' stories of the Klan's march on Washington, the Bonus Army, the King assassination riots, and the "Murder Capital USA" era, I know #WashingtonDC has survived much worse than this, and I know it deserves so much better. #FreeDC

If you have anything to do with Congress, PLEASE help make them decline to authorize the further occupation of DC. It is KILLING our businesses! Local restaurants and retailers are dying! People are scared to come to DC. I have customers telling me they are scared to get on the metro - not due to crime, but due to the National Guard! This is ridiculous!
This is not solving any problems, it's making them worse. I'm all for stopping crime. Labyrinth has been robbed, and it makes me furious, but this is not the way!
I've lived and worked on Capitol Hill for almost 25 years. It is a beautiful neighborhood and we are surrounded by amazing people! Please help keep DC vibrant and alive!
