In Djilba (sort of Spring to the Nyoongar people) the Crested Grebes return to the lake. And they dance. And they give each other gifts (pond weed). And eventually they will have little babies that ride on their backs and eat feathers. #birds #birdphotography

A pair of Crested Grebes "dancing". They gaze intently into each others eyes and alternately shake their heads in a ritualised bonding performance.
