Oregon liberals, opposed to nuclear power in the 1970s, created a complex process for getting new energy projects approved.

It’s now being used to stall developments in wind and solar — with a 76-year-old activist leading the charge.

@ProPublica I don't share most of this persons values, and I do hope more solar and wind power get builds, but everything in this story screams "we did not actually ask the people who live there before trying to build big energy projects on or near their land". Also fuck bulldozing farmland and forests to build high power lines for datacenters.
