What's the difference between Jan. 6 rioters and the targets of Trump's fear-mongering now? Race, but that is not the answer the #BrokenTimes gives. Racism-blindness is rampant in our national media.

The Times mentions Trump pardoning cops who killed a Black man and calling a Black cop a "thug." But the irony the story seeks is about his attitude not to Black people but to police.
