I may have drank the #NixOS kool-aid too much, because I'm considering setting up Hydra (or another Nix-native CI/CB system).

Luckily, this desire went away quickly after looking at the Hydra docs.
Still, I'd love something better than Forgejo Actions, something with native Nix & Flake support, self hostable of course.
But I don't want to go on yet another CI binge. It was very disappointing the last few times - though there are some promising new candidates this time, but the native nix & flake support part is likely not there.

@algernon I had Hercules CI earmarked for a look, though I wondered if you couldn't just set your CI jobs as derivations and chain them together that way.

You can use the act-runner / forgejo-runner on bare metal nix and use regular host commands.
