A photograph of the dark interior of a room with a view through a window into a bright summer day. The room is underexposed and almost black, but the light coming through the window and its yellow curtains shines upon an old wooden couch with striped red-and-white upholstery, a matching chair and a wooden table with a red table runner. The table also has two two metal candleholders sitting in the shade. Almost completely obscured by shadow and probably only visible on a desktop monitor, a chandelier is hanging from the ceiling above the table, just to the left of the window. Below it all, a strip of bare, wooden floor is lit up by the sun. The stark shadows were totally intentional and not at all a result of me forgetting to compensate the light meter's exposure for backlighting.
