Yesterday I visited the city I was born and raised in. One notable place is "La Base." A gigantic piece of reinforced concrete that was set up by the Nazis to launch their submarines during WWII.
It was too expensive to dismantle. Instead of blowing it up, locals turned it into an affordable art center, and subsidized music studios.
The city I was born in took Nazi bases and filled them with joy, creativity, and social equality.
Fascism doesn't last.
