@stroughtonsmith @viticci About time, really, that Apple UI design caught up with the web circa 2010. The whole fixed viewports thing always astonished me. Every time Apple released new hardware, there would be *another* bespoke target for so many apps.

The new system is much better, especially on external displays. But having used it exclusively over a Mac for a week, I really hope it over the next month gains some stability and much-needed UI and UX fixes. It’s still in some areas very v0.1.

@craiggrannell Oh, this mechanism... I think they acted defensively and that was actually good for backwards compatibility.

Building with newer SDK always meant new size support, despite most of those apps would work perfectly fine (but not all probably)

Same this year - iOS 18 apps will stay the same to a maximum degree, even including system stuff like keyboard design or alerts. It'll be quite jarring for quite some time.
