oldguy52 - resist, live, love

Bison calves have a beautiful cinnamon color, and are called red dogs. Able to get up and move shortly after birth, they are protected fiercely by their parent, and by the herd. It brings great joy to watch the interaction between the calves and the adults. Beautiful animals, critical for the tallgrass ecosystem.

A Bison calf rests in the green grass as it browses. They will browse and suckle as they grow. The cinnamon color is distinctive, hence the name Red Dog.
