Using CKEditor in #CraftCMS v5+ is - at times - a very good author experience†. However, without the relationships that are stored when using the 'traditional' Matrix-based approach feels like you may well be losing the thing that made the CMS such a great platform to work with. This may only be realised in the long term as your website evolves.

(† despite still being unable to cope with emphasised text properly, humph!)

One example I've thought of that isn't obvious: On an old site I automatically lifted out the first 'pullquote' matrix block and consumed it in a Twig-generated weekly newsletter. Super effective & easy. But to do that in CKEditor would have been a nightmare (even if writing articles is a less fiddly experience). Same deal with "just pull out all the videos from this article for use in JSON-LD".

Websites are not about just making one page look good. That's why I've had such fun with this CMS.
