@podfeet I'd like to say I knew that, and I think I did, but thankfully I've never had to find out the hard way. I know the emergency call option on the iPhone is a slider, much like the original unlock gesture, but it's more obvious there. My guess is Apple wanted to make sure the emergency call, like unlocking the phone, was a conscious act on the part of the user, and that if they didn't consciously do it, the watch or phone would do it automatically after a minute.
