As #ICE raids continue, let’s remember today is the anniversary (1942) of the Vel d’Hiv mass arrest and deportation action in Paris.

This was the largest “roundup” of Jewish civilians (13,000) in occupied France, and it was carried out by French authorities.

Important episode for anyone concerned w histories of collaboration, facilitation of #genocide, and the administrative contributions to mass atrocity.

Deportees were sent to Auschwitz (via Drancy). #Holocaust
