So Americans will now have to pay a 15% tax -- er, tariff -- on vine-ripened, greenhouse-grown Mexican tomatoes. Will they instead buy the field-grown American tomatoes that are picked green and then gassed to ripen? I plan on harvesting as many of my own organically grown, vine-ripened, ungassed tomatoes as I can & continuing to buy locally grown tomatoes at nearby farmers markets.
