I plan for July all year.
This year is not less expensive than last year and I'm sure 2026 will be worse.
This is the month that all six of our non-medical insurance policies are due. I have always paid once a year whenever it is an available option.
The cost of being insured in California has become prohibitive, but I am thankful we can still secure a homeowners policy. Many of our friends can't.
I always use what is leftover in my budget to buy groceries for our town free pantry. No leftovers this month but I have tons of baking supplies. The rest of the month I will augment my bags of groceries with homemade baked goods.
I also worked out a deal with a friend who will trade my fresh scones for a bag of groceries to share with our neighbors.
There is always a way.
Next month will be easier.

Eight small loaves of banana walnut bread to give away. They are hot out of the oven and are cooling on a wire rack on a blue towel.
