I couldn't get into the whole zettelkasten or second-brain trend. I didn't like using Logseq. Obsidian is proprietary.

What's working for me is writing a daily journal/diary in a TiddlyWiki file. I seldom read what I've written in it. It's just that writing brings more clarity and allows time for some quiet reflection.

There are other kinds of journals too - engineering daybook, gratitude journal etc.

#TiddlyWiki

@njoseph I use something similar (FossilWiki). I did consider using TiddlyWiki, but I am a bit of a fan of DRH-ware.

I feel second-brain/zettelkasten is still overkill for my modest needs, but I'm glad that they exist, if ever I need them.

Wrote about this at length in https://codesurfers.net/2021/10/02/personal-information-management.html
