I keep hearing low flying helicopters and just checked flight aware, there is a preponderance of them flying around (run by cal fire etc.) somewhat south of me, slightly west of where the 73 meets the 5.

Anyone know what's up?

This is from cal fire's website. So clearly something is happening.

Screenshot of a terrain map of portion of southern california with three flying units grouped around something labeled Rancho, that is a bit west of Laguna Niguel.

The units are a plane labeled perimeter mapping, and something labeled air tactical A330 (incident: Rancho) and an air tanker type 3 T71 (incident Rancho)
