@davemark Malthus warned in 1798 of overpopulation leading to famine and war. He couldn’t possibly foresee how much easier life would become, and how humans could control population through peaceful means such as birth control instead of fighting over the planet’s resources. OTOH Japan faces a crisis of underpopulation due to its insular nature and lack of immigration. There’s no easy answer to any of this 🙁

@davemark I think it still is a concern. Global Birthrates are still greater than death rates- the population is still growing, another 2 billion in 25 years at least.
