@cstross if we devoted half the money we spend deporting people, policing the border, and patching capitalism (rental subsidies, etc) towards constructing new residential buildings, rent would probably be $200 per month.
Communities should own their homes. Ban rent. Build apartments. Focus on free generational stewardship models.

@cstross @briankrebs It would be on course, if the conservatives (CDU/CSU) didn’t block it. As it stands, they have zero interest, in going forward with asking the constitutional court to start the process. And without their votes, there’s no majority required for going forward.

@cstross @continuation In Sweden, “remigration” has been a word for a while now. You can even apply for money to “remigrate”. This is the Swedish nazi party’s policy, and the government serves at their pleasure right now.
But last week, a paper published a story on the migration(!) minister’s son being an active nazi for the past year. So, we apparently have a more nazi government that we thought.

Immigrants are people who move somewhere else, and live there. The far right like to use "migrants" to suggest there is nothing bad about sending immigrants back.
Remigration, on the other hand, is a _weird_ name... maybe people who keep coming down the mountain, but we send them back up?
Of course that also means they freeze to death in the winter.
