Upgraded my home #FreedomBox today.

Moved the data from a Pioneer edition device to an old Dell laptop I used mostly for FreedomBox development. It's probably from 2017 or so, but the SSD is only two years old, so the data should be safe. Hope I will do a better job with backups this time.

It's kinda overpowered though. Core i7 (2 cores with 2 hyperthreads each) and 16 GB memory. Disk is 450 GB. I think it can comfortably run 4 FreedomBoxes if deployed as VMs instead.

Installed FreedomBox on the laptop using the Debian netinst installer for Trixie RC1 loaded on a USB stick. There's an option to select FreedomBox or one of the other Debian pure blends while selecting the software to install.

It's nice that I have a FreedomBox that works over Wi-Fi now. I can put it anywhere in the range of the Wi-Fi signal, not necessarily beside the router.

Make sure to copy the firstboot wizard secret properly. Also take a photo just in case. I noted an I as an l.
