Every time you vent about parenting someone bursts in like the Kool-Aid man with "Have you tried..."

No.

Just stop.

So if you are on the struggle bus, let me bust in:

NO amount of gentle parenting, advice, regulation, meditation mindfulness, psychology, or any kind of mojo will make you a "good enough" parent to prevent your toddler completely losing the entirety of their shit about getting the wrong color cup.

Not your fault. There. Not. Your. Fault.

@TarkabarkaHolgy Being a toddler is inherently frustrating, I think: you're aware of the world in a way you weren't as a proper baby but that means you want to do so many things that are still beyond your capabilities and don't at all understand the possibility space yet. And one has to live with that not just assume every frustration is fixable.
@TarkabarkaHolgy Toddlers will lose their shit-- it's their business. Huh. This toot was interesting to me, because I never had guilt trips about having had to prevent this thing (did not occur to me), but I did make terrific stupid mistakes in dealing with them. Good god, a hysterical hugely emotional child and thén remaining calm, pff.

I promise you it gets better!! My child is now 4 and turns out to be amazing? Who knew 😉
